Photo by Anna Lung.\" width=\"100\" height=\"146\" \/><\/a><strong>Sign the Petition<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Today, March 17, 2015, at <a href=\"https:\/\/petitions.whitehouse.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">We the People \u2014 The White House<\/a>, I initiated a petition to the Obama Administration to <a href=\"https:\/\/petitions.whitehouse.gov\/petition\/order-dept-justice-initiate-rico-case-against-city-government-courts-and-police-force-ferguson-mo\/4rKD2QhG\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;order the Dept. of Justice to initiate a RICO case against the city government, courts, and police force of Ferguson, MO.&#8221;<\/a> I described it thus:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">RICO stands for the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (18 U.S.C. \u00a7 1961), a law that increases the severity of penalties for crimes performed in conjunction with organized crime. The law states that any person or group who commits any two out of a list of 35 crimes (known as racketeering activity in the U.S. Code) within a decade and can be determined to have committed them with similar results or similar intentions can be charged with racketeering.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Relevant crimes include: racketeering activity; extortion; mail fraud; obstruction of justice; obstruction of criminal investigations; retaliating against a witness, victim, or informant; tampering with a witness, victim, or informant; interference with commerce.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The DOJ report describes a criminal conspiracy. Prosecute it.<\/p>\n<p>I encourage you to sign this petition, and to spread the word.
