The Derrière Garde Returns — at Day de Dada 2005!

Derrière Garde home I next action

The Derrière Garde made his formal reemergence at "Dada ID: Imagine Dada" on Saturday June 11, 2005 (2:00 to 5:00 pm) at the Snug Harbor Cultural Center on Staten Island, an event organized by Day de Dada.

The Derrière Garde performed his brief ritual throughout the event, providing his fundamental cautionary advice to attendees and participants alike in (mostly) one-on-one interaction during the course of the day. (As always, specific CYA guidelines and individual consultation were also available upon request.) An estimated 50 persons were duly warned. See documentation below.

The Derrière Garde's alter ego, Allan Douglass Coleman, originated and conducted another event at "Day de Dada!" that afternoon: the world premiere of a new work, an audience-participation poem titled "No More Aleutians!"

Immediately thereafter, he made his way to Vlepo Gallery, for the artists' reception celebrating the exhibition "Re-printing Venus," by Jenny Tango and Susan Grabel, to do his duty there also. An estimated 25 persons were put on notice during that occasion, for a cumulative daily total of 75 (approx.).
