As Team Norsigian says in the press release accompanying the “Report on Earl Brooks,” “proper authentication is the key to this mystery.” The ball’s in their court insofar as initiating such authentication goes. But they’d sooner save the appearances by rushing about looking busy with unnecessary made work like this pointless report on Brooks. […]

Before I move to other related matters in the saga of the “Lost Negatives of Ansel Adams,” let me say that I have no reason to doubt the assessment of Rick Norsigian offered recently in a Guest Post at this blog by Patrick Alt, Team Norsigian’s “photography expert.” […] Patrick Alt thus failed Team Norsigian in every significant way. Of everyone in this crew, he was in the best position to ensure the production of hard evidence to support what otherwise constitutes mostly extrapolation, assumption, and hypothesis — or to bow out. This story begins to feel like a rabbit hole, a sinkhole, a black hole — or some combination of those phenomena.
